The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बद्ध्वात्मानं रुदित्वा च कोशकारकृमिर्यथा ।
चिरात्केवलतामेति स्वयं संवित्स्वभावतः ॥ ९३ ॥

baddhvātmānaṃ ruditvā ca kośakārakṛmiryathā |
cirātkevalatāmeti svayaṃ saṃvitsvabhāvataḥ || 93 ||

As the player represents himself in various shapes, and then resumes and returns to his original form; and as the silkworm binds itself in the cocoon of its own making, and then breaks out of it by itself; so doth the soul resume its primal purity, by virtue of its self-consciousness.
