The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यदा संकल्प्य संकल्प्य संवित्स्वं विन्दते वपुः ।
तदास्य जन्मजालस्य सैव गच्छति बीजताम् ॥ ८९ ॥

yadā saṃkalpya saṃkalpya saṃvitsvaṃ vindate vapuḥ |
tadāsya janmajālasya saiva gacchati bījatām || 89 ||

When the conscious soul entertains the idea of some figure in itself, by its imagination, reminiscence or hope; the same becomes the seed of its reproduction, or its being born in the very form which the soul has in its view.
