The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

संविदस्तत्प्रयत्नेन मार्जनीयं विजानता ।
तदमार्जनमात्रं हि महासंसारसंगतम् ॥ ७५ ॥

saṃvidastatprayatnena mārjanīyaṃ vijānatā |
tadamārjanamātraṃ hi mahāsaṃsārasaṃgatam || 75 ||

It is therefore right, to rub out the impressions of consciousness with diligence; because the preservation of those vestiges, is the cause of our bondage in the world.
