The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वचमत्कारयोगेन संवेद्यं संविदस्तथा ।
स्ववेदनं स्वसंकल्पात्संविदो यत्र वर्तते ॥ ६९ ॥

svacamatkārayogena saṃvedyaṃ saṃvidastathā |
svavedanaṃ svasaṃkalpātsaṃvido yatra vartate || 69 ||

It is owing to our curiosity only, that our consciousness has its intelligence of the intelligible (God); as it is the desire of knowing any thing, that leads the conscious soul to the knowledge of it.
