The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

संवेद्यं बीजमित्युक्तं स्फुरतस्तौ यतस्ततः ।
हृदि संवेद्यमाप्यैव प्राणस्पन्दोऽथ वासना ॥ ६४ ॥

saṃvedyaṃ bījamityuktaṃ sphuratastau yatastataḥ |
hṛdi saṃvedyamāpyaiva prāṇaspando'tha vāsanā || 64 ||

Again it is intelligence or Samvedya, which is the seed or root of both of these; and there being this intelligence within us, we have both our vitality and our desires also.
