The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यदा न स्पन्दते प्राणः शिरासरणिकोटरे ।
असंवित्तिवशात्तेन चित्तमन्तर्न जायते ॥ १६ ॥

yadā na spandate prāṇaḥ śirāsaraṇikoṭare |
asaṃvittivaśāttena cittamantarna jāyate || 16 ||

When the vital breath ceases to circulate through the lungs and wind pipes, there ensues the insensibility of the mind and the circulation of the heart-blood is put to a stop.
