The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.88.16

अधिगतपरमार्थः क्षीणरागादिदोषः सकलमलविकारोपाधिसङ्गाद्यपेतः ।
चिरमनुसृतमन्तः स्वं स्वभावं विवेकी पदममलमनन्तं प्राप्तवान्शान्तशोकः ॥ १६ ॥

adhigataparamārthaḥ kṣīṇarāgādidoṣaḥ sakalamalavikāropādhisaṅgādyapetaḥ |
ciramanusṛtamantaḥ svaṃ svabhāvaṃ vivekī padamamalamanantaṃ prāptavānśāntaśokaḥ || 16 ||

By knowing this transcendent truth, and being freed from the faults of passions and feelings, and far removed from the foibles and frailties of the world; the silent sage followed the dictates of his mind, and attained thereby the endless blissfulness of his soul:—the summum bonum of human life.
