The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.88.12

ज्ञानान्निर्दुःखतामेति ज्ञानादज्ञानसंक्षयः ।
ज्ञानादेव परा सिद्धिर्नान्यस्माद्राम वस्तुतः ॥ १२ ॥

jñānānnirduḥkhatāmeti jñānādajñānasaṃkṣayaḥ |
jñānādeva parā siddhirnānyasmādrāma vastutaḥ || 12 ||

The light of knowledge dispels the darkness of ignorance, and destroys the mist of false fears and woes; and knowledge alone is the cause of that consummation, which nothing else can bring about.
