The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.86.18

भवन्तोऽन्ये वयं चान्ये ब्रह्मान्यत्कर्तृतापरा ।
अन्यो भोक्तान्य आदत्ते को दोषः कस्य कीदृशः ॥ १८ ॥

bhavanto'nye vayaṃ cānye brahmānyatkartṛtāparā |
anyo bhoktānya ādatte ko doṣaḥ kasya kīdṛśaḥ || 18 ||

You my senses and thou my mind, and my living soul, are different things, and quite separate from the unity of Brahma. The mind is the active principle, and the intellect is passive, and so no one related to the other.
