The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.86.17

अनात्मन्यात्मता सैषा सैषा वस्तुन्यवस्तुता ।
अविचारेण वै जाता विचारेण क्षयं गता ॥ १७ ॥

anātmanyātmatā saiṣā saiṣā vastunyavastutā |
avicāreṇa vai jātā vicāreṇa kṣayaṃ gatā || 17 ||

To take what is not the self for self, is equal to the taking of an unreality for reality; want of reason produces this mistake, but right reason removes the fallacy.
