The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.83.47

प्रतियोगिव्यवच्छेदकलनैकस्य वै कुतः ।
अहं तेनायमात्मेति कलनामनुदाहरन् ।
मौनी स्वात्मनि तिष्ठामि तरङ्ग इव वारिणि ॥ ४७ ॥

pratiyogivyavacchedakalanaikasya vai kutaḥ |
ahaṃ tenāyamātmeti kalanāmanudāharan |
maunī svātmani tiṣṭhāmi taraṅga iva vāriṇi || 47 ||

This soul which is without its counter-part, is beyond our imagination and description; therefore I think myself as this soul, not in the form of an image of it, but as a wave of the water of that profound and unlimited ocean of the Divine soul.
