The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

लोभनाट्यारटत्पक्षी तीक्ष्णया द्वन्द्वतुण्डया ।
कायजीर्णद्रुमादस्माद्गुणखण्डं निकृन्तति ॥ ११ ॥

lobhanāṭyāraṭatpakṣī tīkṣṇayā dvandvatuṇḍayā |
kāyajīrṇadrumādasmādguṇakhaṇḍaṃ nikṛntati || 11 ||

Avarice is as a dancing stork, clattering her pair of sharp bills (to entice men towards her); and then pull off their eyes from their decayed frames, as also the intestinal cords of the body.
