The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.82.34

यज्जडं तद्धि नास्त्वेव सदेवासत्तयान्वितम् ।
ज्ञत्वकर्तृत्वभोक्तृत्वमन्यत्वानामसंभवात् ॥ ३४ ॥

yajjaḍaṃ taddhi nāstveva sadevāsattayānvitam |
jñatvakartṛtvabhoktṛtvamanyatvānāmasaṃbhavāt || 34 ||

The unreal has no existence, and the existence of the mind, is an unreality as the redness of a crystal. Knowledge, action and passion belong to the soul only, and are not attributable to the mind.
