The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.79.7

संवित्तिरेव संवेद्यं नानयोर्द्वित्वकल्पना ।
चिनोत्यात्मानमात्मैव रामैवं नान्यदस्ति हि ॥ ७ ॥

saṃvittireva saṃvedyaṃ nānayordvitvakalpanā |
cinotyātmānamātmaiva rāmaivaṃ nānyadasti hi || 7 ||

Consciousness itself is the thing it is conscious of (or in other words, knowledge is identic with the known; i.e. the subjective is the same with the objective), and there is no difference between them. The soul knows only itself as there is no other beside itself.
