The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
साधो जगति भूतानां हृदयं द्विविधं स्मृतम् ।
उपादेयं च हेयं च विभागोऽयं तयोः शृणु ॥ ३३ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
sādho jagati bhūtānāṃ hṛdayaṃ dvividhaṃ smṛtam |
upādeyaṃ ca heyaṃ ca vibhāgo'yaṃ tayoḥ śṛṇu || 33 ||

Vasishtha replied:—Hear my good Rama; the hearts of all animals in this world, are of two kinds, namely: the superior and inferior, and learn their difference.
