The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.78.18

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
शास्त्रसज्जनसंपर्कवैराग्याभ्यासयोगतः ।
अनास्थायां कृतास्थायां पूर्वसंसारवृत्तिषु ॥ १८ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
śāstrasajjanasaṃparkavairāgyābhyāsayogataḥ |
anāsthāyāṃ kṛtāsthāyāṃ pūrvasaṃsāravṛttiṣu || 18 ||

Vasishtha replied:—It is possible by study of the sastras and association with the good and wise, by habitual dispassionateness, by the practice of Yoga, and by removal of reliance in every transaction of the world.
