The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.77.27

बहिः प्रकृतसर्वार्थोऽप्यन्तः पुनरनीहया ।
न सत्तां योजयत्यर्थे न फलान्यनुधावति ॥ २७ ॥

bahiḥ prakṛtasarvārtho'pyantaḥ punaranīhayā |
na sattāṃ yojayatyarthe na phalānyanudhāvati || 27 ||

An act done by the outer body without its intention in the inner mind, is reckoned as no act of the actor, nor does it entail upon him its good or bad result.
