The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.77.23

मंजूषायां निषण्णस्य यथा बालस्य चेष्टते ।
अङ्गावल्यनुसंधानवर्जितं यस्य वै तथा ॥ २३ ॥

maṃjūṣāyāṃ niṣaṇṇasya yathā bālasya ceṣṭate |
aṅgāvalyanusaṃdhānavarjitaṃ yasya vai tathā || 23 ||

He does his outward actions, by the mere movement of the outer members of his body, and without the application of his mind to them; as a baby sleeping in a cradle, has the spontaneous play of his limbs, without any purpose of his mind.
