The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विचार्य तत्त्वमालोक्य सेव्यन्ते या विभूतयः ।
ता उदर्कोदया जन्तोः शेषा दुःखाय केवलम् ॥ १९ ॥

vicārya tattvamālokya sevyante yā vibhūtayaḥ |
tā udarkodayā jantoḥ śeṣā duḥkhāya kevalam || 19 ||

He who considers beforehand the employment he should engage in, and the enjoyments he ought to share in this world, fares well in his present and future life; or else he falls to danger like the inconsiderate man.
