The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.75.36

अस्त्यवस्तुनि वस्त्वन्तः काञ्चनं सिकतास्विव ।
अस्ति वस्तुन्यवस्त्वन्तर्मलं हेमकणेष्विव ॥ ३६ ॥

astyavastuni vastvantaḥ kāñcanaṃ sikatāsviva |
asti vastunyavastvantarmalaṃ hemakaṇeṣviva || 36 ||

It is not impossible for the supreme soul, to reside in all bodies in any manners it likes; it presides sometimes in the manner of the grains of pure gold, amidst worthless sands and dust; and at others as the mixture of some base metal in pure gold.
