The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.75.35

विधिर्दैवं विधिर्धाता सर्वेशः शिव ईश्वरः ।
इति नामभिरात्मा नः प्रत्यक्चेतन उच्यते ॥ ३५ ॥

vidhirdaivaṃ vidhirdhātā sarveśaḥ śiva īśvaraḥ |
iti nāmabhirātmā naḥ pratyakcetana ucyate || 35 ||

This law of divine decree is the lord of all, and embodies in itself the creative, preservative and destructive powers under the titles of Brahma, Vishnu and Siva. These names are indicative of the intelligent faculties of the universal soul.
