The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सर्वारम्भपरित्यागी सर्वोपाधिविवर्जितः ।
सर्वाशासंपरित्यागी जीवन्मुक्त इति स्मृतः ॥ ३८ ॥

sarvārambhaparityāgī sarvopādhivivarjitaḥ |
sarvāśāsaṃparityāgī jīvanmukta iti smṛtaḥ || 38 ||

He is said to be liberated in his life time, for his taking no title on himself, and withholding from all business; as also for his being free from desires.
