The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न ददाति न चादत्ते न स्तौति न च निन्दति ।
नास्तमेति न चोदेति न तुष्यति न शोचति ॥ ३७ ॥

na dadāti na cādatte na stauti na ca nindati |
nāstameti na codeti na tuṣyati na śocati || 37 ||

The self contented man, neither gives to nor receives anything from anybody; he neither praises nor dispraises any one, nor does he rejoice or grieve at anything, nor is he ever elated nor depressed at any occurrence.
