अविनाभाविनोर्यस्तु संबन्धः कथमेतयोः ।
जडचेतनयोर्देहदेहिनोरनुभूयते ॥ २१ ॥

avinābhāvinoryastu saṃbandhaḥ kathametayoḥ |
jaḍacetanayordehadehinoranubhūyate || 21 ||

As the two opposites can have no relation between them, so is it with the body and soul, the one being dull matter, and the other an intelligent principle.
