The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.71.17

न द्वित्वमस्ति नो देहाः संबन्धो न च तैः स्थितः ।
संभाव्यते कलङ्को वा भानोरिव तमःपटैः ॥ १७ ॥

na dvitvamasti no dehāḥ saṃbandho na ca taiḥ sthitaḥ |
saṃbhāvyate kalaṅko vā bhānoriva tamaḥpaṭaiḥ || 17 ||

There being no duality beside the only soul, there can be no material body at all; nor is there any relation between this and that, than there is between the light of the sun and the gloom of night.
