The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नादानं न परित्यागः कर्मणोऽज्ञाय रोचते ।
तिष्ठन्त्यवगतात्मानो यथाप्राप्तानुवर्तिनः ॥ १८ ॥

nādānaṃ na parityāgaḥ karmaṇo'jñāya rocate |
tiṣṭhantyavagatātmāno yathāprāptānuvartinaḥ || 18 ||

The wise man is neither pleased with the acts of charity or penury;he is delighted with his knowledge of the soul, and lives content with whatever may fall to his lot.
