The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.70.16

सुषुप्तबुद्धिः कर्माणि पूर्वमेवावहेलया ।
कुर्वन्न बध्यते जीवो जीवन्मुक्ततया स्थितः ॥ १६ ॥

suṣuptabuddhiḥ karmāṇi pūrvamevāvahelayā |
kurvanna badhyate jīvo jīvanmuktatayā sthitaḥ || 16 ||

The man in the hypnotic state of his mind, does his works as insensibly as he did them in his sleep; and by reason of no exertion on his part, for his doing them from his former and habitual practice. The living soul that is insensible of its actions, is said to rest in his state of living liberation.
