The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.67.40

असंसक्तमकर्तेव कुर्वदेव मनो विदुः ।
न कर्मफलभोक्तृत्वमसक्तं प्रतिपद्यते ॥ ४० ॥

asaṃsaktamakarteva kurvadeva mano viduḥ |
na karmaphalabhoktṛtvamasaktaṃ pratipadyate || 40 ||

The mind unattending to an action of the body, is never considered as its agent (as it is never said to be the agent of breathing, which is a spontaneous action of the living body). No reward of any action ever accrues to one, that is not engaged in the doing of that action.
