The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

इदं भव्यमतेर्दुःखमनन्तमपि पेलवम् ।
कुखगस्याऽतरोऽम्भोधिः सर्पारेर्गोष्पदायते ॥ ३ ॥

idaṃ bhavyamaterduḥkhamanantamapi pelavam |
kukhagasyā'taro'mbhodhiḥ sarpārergoṣpadāyate || 3 ||

Know, O Rama of polished understanding! that this world of endless woes, is as easily traversed by the intelligent, as the wide ocean is crossed over by the bird of Jove, though it is impossible for any other bird to do so.
