The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बहुविधसुखदुःखमध्यपाती विततजरामरणप्रवातभग्नः ।
जगदुदरगिरौ लुठञ्जनोऽयं गतरसपर्णवदेति जर्जरत्वम् ॥ ३९ ॥

bahuvidhasukhaduḥkhamadhyapātī vitatajarāmaraṇapravātabhagnaḥ |
jagadudaragirau luṭhañjano'yaṃ gatarasaparṇavadeti jarjaratvam || 39 ||

All mankind placed between their weal and woe in life, are swept away to age and death; as the leaves of trees growing on high hills, are scattered by the high winds of heaven.
