The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

देहरत्नशलाकेयं नाशपङ्कार्णवोदरे ।
न ज्ञायते क्व मग्नेति तात जन्मनि जन्मनि ॥ ३२ ॥

deharatnaśalākeyaṃ nāśapaṅkārṇavodare |
na jñāyate kva magneti tāta janmani janmani || 32 ||

The body is a valuable instrument, for the discharge of our worldly duties; but it is soon lost under the mud of this ocean of the world, and no body knows where it is buried in its repeated births.
