The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

उन्मूलिताश्रयालानो मनोमत्तमतङ्गजः ।
तृष्णाकरेणुकोन्निद्रो दूरं विपरिधावति ॥ २० ॥

unmūlitāśrayālāno manomattamataṅgajaḥ |
tṛṣṇākareṇukonnidro dūraṃ viparidhāvati || 20 ||

The furious elephant of the ungoverned mind, breaks loose from its fetters of good sense; and then joining with the elephants of wild desire, ranges at large without rest or sleep.
