The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विलास उवाच ।
जीविताग्र्यद्रुमफल हृदावासामृताम्बुधे ।
जगत्यस्मिन्महाबन्धो भास स्वागतमस्तु ते ॥ ५ ॥

vilāsa uvāca |
jīvitāgryadrumaphala hṛdāvāsāmṛtāmbudhe |
jagatyasminmahābandho bhāsa svāgatamastu te || 5 ||

Vilasa said:—O Bhasa, that art the best fruit of the tree of my life, that hast thy seat in the recess of my heart, and art a sea of ambrosia to me, I welcome thee, O my best friend in this world.
