The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्कन्धेषु देवैर्वलितः पादेषु वलितो नरैः ।
पाताले वलितो नागैर्जगद्गृहमिवापरम् ॥ १२ ॥

skandheṣu devairvalitaḥ pādeṣu valito naraiḥ |
pātāle valito nāgairjagadgṛhamivāparam || 12 ||

It appeared as the abode of the triple world, having the seats of the gods on its top, the residence of men at its foot, and the holes of snakes under its bottom.
