The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.65.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
मनसैव मनश्छित्त्वा यद्यात्मा नावलोक्यते ।
ममेत्यहमिति त्यक्त्वा तत्तामरसलोचन ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
manasaiva manaśchittvā yadyātmā nāvalokyate |
mametyahamiti tyaktvā tattāmarasalocana || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—As long as one does not come to perceive his soul, by breaking down his mind of his own accord; and so long, lotus-eyed Rama, one does not get rid of his egoism and meism.
