The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मनोमात्रेण सुहृदा सदैव सहवासिना ।
सह किंचित्परामृश्य भवत्यात्मा समृद्धृतः ॥ ३८ ॥

manomātreṇa suhṛdā sadaiva sahavāsinā |
saha kiṃcitparāmṛśya bhavatyātmā samṛddhṛtaḥ || 38 ||

The mind is the constant companion and true friend to the soul; and therefore it is by consultation with the mind, that one should seek to redeem himself.
