The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

रागदंशावलीदष्टं कृष्टं तृष्णावरत्रया ।
मनोवणिङनिकेतस्थं बन्धुबन्धननिश्चलम् ॥ २३ ॥

rāgadaṃśāvalīdaṣṭaṃ kṛṣṭaṃ tṛṣṇāvaratrayā |
manovaṇiṅaniketasthaṃ bandhubandhananiścalam || 23 ||

They are bitten and disturbed by the gnats of their passions, and are made to plough the ground under the halter of their avarice;they are shut in the cribs of their masters, and are bound by the bonds of their kindred.
