The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वाञ्छायां विनिवृत्तायां संक्षयो द्वेषरागयोः ।
दिनलक्ष्म्यां व्यपेतायामालोकातपयोरिव ॥ १६ ॥

vāñchāyāṃ vinivṛttāyāṃ saṃkṣayo dveṣarāgayoḥ |
dinalakṣmyāṃ vyapetāyāmālokātapayoriva || 16 ||

As we cease to desire, so we get rid of our fawning and hatred also; as the setting of the sun is attended with the loss of both light and heat.
