The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सुरघुरुवाच ।
भगवन्नियतेरस्या गतिं सर्पगतेरिव ।
दैविक्याः को हि जानाति गम्भीरां विस्मयप्रदाम् ॥ ४३ ॥

suraghuruvāca |
bhagavanniyaterasyā gatiṃ sarpagateriva |
daivikyāḥ ko hi jānāti gambhīrāṃ vismayapradām || 43 ||

Suraghu replied:—Yes, sir, the course of destiny is as crooked as that of a serpent; nor is there any man that can penetrate into the depth of the mysterious nature of destiny.
