The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.58.46

यत्र सर्वात्मनैवात्मा लाभाय यतति स्वयम् ।
त्यक्तान्यकार्यं प्राप्नोति तन्नाम नृप नेतरत् ॥ ४६ ॥

yatra sarvātmanaivātmā lābhāya yatati svayam |
tyaktānyakāryaṃ prāpnoti tannāma nṛpa netarat || 46 ||

When one endeavours to know the supreme soul, with all his heart and soul, and sacrifices all other objects to that end; it is then only possible for him, to know the Divine soul in its fulness, and not otherwise.
