The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तावत्तावन्महाबाहो स्वयं संत्यज्यतेऽखिलम् ।
यावद्यावत्परालोकः परमात्मैव शिष्यते ॥ ४१ ॥

tāvattāvanmahābāho svayaṃ saṃtyajyate'khilam |
yāvadyāvatparālokaḥ paramātmaiva śiṣyate || 41 ||

But great minds avoid to take notice of outward things, in order that they may behold the pure light of supreme soul shining in themselves.
