The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चेतोवासनया पङ्के कीटवत्परिमज्जसि ।
दृश्यमात्रावलम्बिन्या स्वया दीनतया तया ॥ ४० ॥

cetovāsanayā paṅke kīṭavatparimajjasi |
dṛśyamātrāvalambinyā svayā dīnatayā tayā || 40 ||

Little minds are led by their greediness, to dive in to dirty affairs, like insects moving about in the dirt; and their miserliness makes them covet all out-ward things.
