The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वतो यदात्मदृषदश्चित्त्वात्काठिन्यवेदनम् ।
तदहंतादि भेदादि देशकालादितां गतम् ॥ ४ ॥

tadahaṃtādi bhedādi deśakālāditāṃ gatam || 4 ||

The intellect which is known as the hardness inhering in the stonelike soul, diffuses itself in the shapes of the compact ego and the unsolid non-ego of the world.
