The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.56.20

प्रशान्तजगदास्थोऽन्तर्वीतशोकभयैषणः ।
स्वस्थो भवति येनात्मा स समाधिरिति स्मृतः ॥ २० ॥

praśāntajagadāstho'ntarvītaśokabhayaiṣaṇaḥ |
svastho bhavati yenātmā sa samādhiriti smṛtaḥ || 20 ||

When the mind is tranquil, after it is freed from its fears, griefs and desires; and the soul is set at its rest and quiet, in want of its passions; it is then called the state of its samadhi or nonchalance.
