The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.54.17

ततस्तृतीयावसरे प्रणवस्योपशान्तिदे ।
पूरणप्रपूरको नाम प्राणानामभवत्क्रमः ॥ १७ ॥

tatastṛtīyāvasare praṇavasyopaśāntide |
pūraṇaprapūrako nāma prāṇānāmabhavatkramaḥ || 17 ||

He then came to the third stage, of his pranava yoga, by means of the puraka or inhaling breathing, which confers a quiet rest to the Yogi, and is called puraka for its fulfilment of his object.
