The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.53.53

एतयोरेकसंस्थाने मृतिरित्येव या कथा ।
सा व्योम्न्यया स्त्रिया भुक्ता धरेति कथया समा ॥ ५३ ॥

etayorekasaṃsthāne mṛtirityeva yā kathā |
sā vyomnyayā striyā bhuktā dhareti kathayā samā || 53 ||

The existence of either of these (i.e. of the body or mind) after death is as incapable of heavenly felicity, as it is for an aerial fairy to fare on earth.
