The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

असदभ्युत्थिते व्यर्थमहंकारमहाभ्रमे ।
ममेदमिदमस्येति विपर्यस्तमिदं जगत् ॥ २२ ॥

asadabhyutthite vyarthamahaṃkāramahābhrame |
mamedamidamasyeti viparyastamidaṃ jagat || 22 ||

The great error of the unreal ego having once obtained its footing among mankind, it has put the world to an uproar with the expressions of mine and thine, as that this is mine and that is thine, and that other is another's and the like.
