The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अनुधावति यो भोगांस्त्यक्त्वा शमरसायनम् ।
संत्यज्य मन्दारवनं स याति विषजङ्गलम् ॥ ९ ॥

anudhāvati yo bhogāṃstyaktvā śamarasāyanam |
saṃtyajya mandāravanaṃ sa yāti viṣajaṅgalam || 9 ||

He who pursues after pleasure, by forsaking his peaceful tranquillity; is as one who quits his grove of mandara flowers, and enters a forest of poisonous plants.
