The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विषयैर्नीयमाने तु चित्ते मर्कटचञ्चले ।
न स लेभे समाधानप्रतिष्ठां प्रीतिदायिनीम् ॥ ३९ ॥

viṣayairnīyamāne tu citte markaṭacañcale |
na sa lebhe samādhānapratiṣṭhāṃ prītidāyinīm || 39 ||

But as his apish ficklemindedness turned towards sensible objects in different ways, he did not obtain the state of habitation which could render him happy.
