Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.51.2

कालेन महता क्षेत्रे जातेयं बुद्धिवल्लरी ।
वृद्धिं विवेकसेकेन नय तां नयकोविद ॥ २ ॥

kālena mahatā kṣetre jāteyaṃ buddhivallarī |
vṛddhiṃ vivekasekena naya tāṃ nayakovida || 2 ||

As it occurs in the course of a long time, that the germ of intelligence comes to sprout forth in the field of the mind; so do you, O Rama! who are a moralist, grow it by sprinkling the cold water of reason over its tender blades.
